Perfectly Imperfect

My graduation project "Perfectly Imperfect" for which I recieved Svenskt Tenns Designaward 2014. Understanding objects also entails understanding how they deviate from the standard. My interest in design is grounded in a longing for the perfect and stylistically pure. Nevertheless, I am always drawn to the odd and the defective. In workshops and factories I have studied the process of furniture and products being created, and also what is excluded or discarded and why. What I found were the deformations, the cracks and the stains that I have portrayed in a series of objects – emphasising defects as positive effects.
